Battling: Cal, Washington State
With new head coach Mike Riley in place the Huskers have gotten in the game late for the No. 47-ranked wide receiver in the country. The good news is that Alston will be coming the final weekend before national signing day and the Huskers will get the last crack at his services.
Nebraska needs to add to the wide receiver position with star Kenny Bell gone and DeMornay Pierson-El a question mark as a full-time wide receiver going forward. Adding another quality body to the mix at a position that will be used much differently under Riley is very important.
Look for the Huskers to pull out all the stops to get the California native to commit during his visit and if things go well expect just that to happen. It won’t be the easiest of tasks, but Nebraska has really shown an ability to close on visits with the new staff in place.
