Fall camp is less than 24 hours away from officially starting. Just a few days after Big Ten media days wrapped up in Chicago, the Badgers held their annual local media day on Friday afternoon at Camp Randall.
Head coach Paul Chryst addressed the media ahead of camp opening.
One of the biggest changes this season is to the camp schedule, as two-a-days are no longer a thing in the NCAA rule book. That means an extra week of camp and a different flow to everything college football is used to entering the season.
“Certainly the legislation has changed,” said Chryst. “Kind of the type of camp maybe we’ve all know, but I like the plan that we have. More importantly, I really like where the group is at and I think they are ready to maximize the opportunity that is fall camp.”
Chryst believes the Badgers coaching staff has the right plan in place to deal with the change and noted that all 105 players are in camp and ready to go. There are no significant injuries that we didn’t already know about coming out of spring camp, and that is a major plus as well.
